Welcome to MicroCreds. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MicroCreds website, platform, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Services"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you must not use our Services. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization (such as a university or enterprise), you are agreeing to these Terms for that organization and representing that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
MicroCreds provides a platform for organizations ("Issuers") to create, issue, and manage cryptographically secure digital credentials and badges. These credentials are anchored to a blockchain ledger to ensure immutability and allow third parties ("Verifiers") to independently verify the authenticity of the credentials earned by individuals ("Earners").
3. Blockchain and Cryptography Disclaimers
- Immutability: Once a credential hash is anchored to the blockchain, the transaction record cannot be altered or deleted. Issuers are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data prior to issuance.
- Revocation: While the blockchain record is permanent, MicroCreds provides smart contract mechanisms for Issuers to cryptographically revoke the validity status of a credential.
- Testnet Usage: Currently, unless explicitly stated in an Enterprise SLA, MicroCreds anchors data to the Ethereum Sepolia Testnet. This is sufficient for cryptographic proof but is subject to testnet resets beyond our control.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Issue fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive credentials.
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or its related systems or networks.
5. Intellectual Property
The MicroCreds platform, including its original content, features, smart contracts, and functionality, are owned by MicroCreds and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall MicroCreds, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the new Terms on the site. By continuing to access or use our Services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
